Still Broken

[Tuesday Jan 28.03 ¬ 11:37 PM]

As you can likely see, finals are over, the semester has begun anew, and updates have resumed. Once more into the breach, dear friends, and bring a #2 pencil.

Today — the day after, as it were — with many many many students wearing the customary dazed “I don’t want to know I don’t want to know” expressions of crash survivors — brought with it the usual rearranging of classes, reaming of schedules, and mysterious evaporation of teachers. Fun things always occur near the beginning of a semester; our History class has more people than it has desks but more desks than it has space, so correcting the first problem would aggravate the second, requiring us either to stack people or desks. The same occured last semester. Within a week or two people will start to disappear. It’s all part of the grand plan. Just close your eyes and place your faith in the administration.

Don’t be too surprised if your stuff is gone by the time you look up. Budget cuts, you know.

In any case, word from on high is: get your schedule changes in (to the Little Theater) by this Friday (the 31st). You did get your schedule, right? 5th period handed them out during Finals. If you didn’t get yours, you still can, 7:30–8:30 on the Community Theater steps. In any case, if you’ve got a gap or a problem, you really ought to go to the Little Theater: counselors will be around all day dealing with problems, and new schedules may expect to find you there. At the very least pay a less fortunate sibling to stand in for you.

Counselors will start to hold appointments on February 11. Don’t wait for it. By then it will very likely be too late. Submit a request to change your schedule this week.

This is interesting. Go to LBNL. Meet interesting people. Learn stuff. Make cash. Again, that’s here.

A couple of links have been added to the Links section — Youth Together and a student site.

Know also that Youth Together is beginning their Club Meetings this week. First one is Wednesday, the 29th (so you probably missed it), lunchtime in room C400. From then on, they meet twice a month. The dates will materialize sometime soon, as will a possibly changed meeting place; we’ll keep you posted.

A new poll is up.
