astute observation, i've had this exact thought myself. its ridiculous that, (it seems to me) BECAUSE of the fact that we're in berkeley and "who's to say how good a teacher is, theres no way to measure it, they're all EQUALLY good in their own EQUALLY special ways, we can't go based on standardized testing because then we'd be going by the test (read: the MAN, who will shut YOU down) because god forbid we could really differentiate between teachers that are hella tight and teachers that suck harder than a Thai hooker being paid by the number of customers per hour. holy shit. sometimes i want to take berkeley and all its bullshit and whip it up with a nice dogshit pie. i'll give you a hint: the dogshit would sweeten it.

Email Andy M.Part of the reason that schools get away with the tenure system of compensation must be that it's very difficult to fairly evaluate quality of teaching. And if you think the administration would ever consider student evaluation of teachers, you're deluding yourself.
