Comfort and Joy
[Friday May 5.06 ¬ 1:41 AM]BHS’s spring musical, Bat Boy: The Musical opens tonight at 8 PM in the Little Theater. It promises to be interesting at the very least. From what I’ve read and heard about it, it’s an extraordinarily bizzarre musical—and what I’ve seen of it so far confirms these findings. Most people who have seen it so far say that it is very very good, but most of these people are the folks teching the show, so let’s not take their word as the Lord’s Truth just yet.
Bat Boy is apparently an obscure off-Broadway musical based off of Bat Boy, a character who frequents the headlines of (speaking of not taking things as the Lord’s Truth…) the Weekly World News. The musical features blood, sex (animal sex, at that), and David Crane with pointy ears. Sounds like a party.
Show dates are the 5th, 6th, 12th, and 13th at 8 PM and the 7th at 7 PM.
I’m not sure what ticket prices are, but when I find out, I’ll let you know.
UPDATE: Tickets cost $7 if you’re a BHS student with an ID and $12 otherwise.
Senior Ball tickets are on sale (have been for a couple weeks, apparently) during Monday, Wednesday, and Friday lunchtimes at the ticket sales office on Allston—next to the D-Building entrance. They won’t take checks—a couple of my friends learned this the hard way—so you’re going to have to pay in cash if you want to go. And what a load of cash it it. Tickets are at $75 today and will go up each week, so get them while they’re fresh. You know that tux, limo, and hotel room for the night are going to cost you enough as it is.
