Parents, Teachers, Students, Oh My

[Friday Oct 3.03 ¬ 3:26 PM]

I think that the PTSA is severely underappreciated.

While I’m certainly not one to go around pointing at my competition, the dry bunch at the Parent Teacher Student Association has got more time on their hands than is healthy. If you haven’t seen their site, give it a look; they have a lot of information rattling around, almost as much as here.

Better yet, they’ve got the resources to do fun things like publishing the PTSA newsletter, an occasional printed… well, newsletter… that is mailed out to subscribers. This year’s first issue went out a few days ago, and it’s chock-full of interesting goodies.

For instance, those mysterious dark-clad figures known as the administration? They’ve got names and identities now, and even a brief sketch of their responsibilities. We’ve got phone numbers for stalking and some sports news and a few little munchies of information that you wouldn’t even have thought you needed until you learned it.

There’s an awful lot in here, and if they keep up with this trend, then the PTSA newsletter should turn out to be an essential piece of the average Berkeley High–er’s toolkit this year.

Hey, look: Somebody went and made another site about Berkeley High (this time the BAF, or the Berkeley Athletics Fund). Dig it. It’ll find its way to the Links section eventually.

Back to School night was tonight; progress reports are going home any moment now; and Slemp so far receives a passing grade from the populace.

Days move along.
