Round 2
[Saturday Mar 19.05 ¬ 5:37 PM]The latest salvo in the BFT-vs.-BUSD contract negotiations — which, by and large, have not been going well, and which some players foresee potentially ending up in a strike — is a “hearts and minds” public opinion effort by both sides.
Seems that the district made a contract offer in the past week which the teacher’s union rejected; subsequently, the district plied its various angles of communication (postal mail to homes, email mailing list posts, and the like) to announce its side of the story. The BFT, irked by their telling of it, yet lacking the same venues of speech as the BUSD, is passing around a virtual word-of-mouth response. I’ve posted both here.

Take a look. No matter where you look, this is the big news right now, and yes, students are affected too. You may have noticed that progress reports went home with simple Pass/Fail grades rather than letters; that’s another result of the ongoing work-to-rule. Da stuff is going down.
UPDATE: Looks like someone got off their rears and put together the bulk of the contract dispute information on the PTA's website. Check it out.
